Michelle and the Penske Truck

Well, I couldn't resist taking a picture of Michelle when she rented a Penske truck to move the rest of their stuff. I seriously laughed for about 1 min. straight. It was too funny! She really is driving the truck. Fun times. Only a couple more months and they will get to move all over again! We will let everyone know so you guys can help!

All is quiet on the Sophie Front...

A long night of contractions culminated in a short trip to the hospital followed by the same trip in reverse. The remainder of the day I walked and walked and walked, which was no small chore considering the heat. I even went wal-marting, which i just knew would do it. As a last resort, i went to get a pedicure. All this was to no avail! No more contractions. I think Sophie wants the ruby necklace. Smart girl. It is all about the bling-bling for this girl... We shall see... I think another poll might be in order... My money is on July 1st ( for Suzanne ) or July 5th.....

Tommy and Jennifer's Wedding Pictures

Here are some pictures of Tommy & Jennifer's wedding. ENJOY!
Can anyone guess who took the pictures?
Suzanne can you?

Still Waiting....

Hey everyone. We are still waiting on Sophie to make her grand entrance. Steph went to the hospital this morning and the doctor checked her and she hadn't progressed any, so they went home. They are still there resting and waiting. Steph is still having contractions about every 2 1/2 min. I'll keep everyone posted! The doctor said it could be 2 hours or days. To be continued...

Here comes SOPHIE!

Here comes Sophie. I was on the computer last night checking my email and Steph was on and woohoo... Steph said that she has had contractions since about 6pm and they didn't get regular till about 10pm. As of 5:50am when Clifton called Mom, she was still at home with contractions. We will let everyone know when Sophie decides it's time to go. BE WAITING... I think it will be very soon. Oh, Steph just emailed me telling me that Mom would call when they went to the hospital. 9 hours into labor. AMAZING!

Dad's "Surprise" Birthday Party

Well, It wasn't really a surprise. He found out when he got home. Oh well, we still had a good time.

Dad, Abigail, & Kaleb after they blew out the candles.

The "tech" team. We put together a slide show for Dad.

The Sluss Family Singers wrote a song for Dad. Here is the song...

ENJOY!

Happy 50th Birthday Song
Verse 1
Born way back in ’56, started working for his dad every night and day
And he never missed one minute of livin’, worryin’ ‘ bout the way things might have been
Big wheels keep on turnin’, Birthdays started comin’
Older, Older, he started gettin’ older.
Verse 2
Worked a lot or days in Detroit, started a few fights around 8 mile
Detroit ain’t got no good side of the city, so he hitched a ride on back down south
4 wheels keep on turnin’, Every day he kept on learnin’,
Rollin’, Rollin’, Rollin’ on life’s highway
Verse 3
Worked a lot of horses at Pine knob, There was Howie barrs and Jett’s pay day
Kids went off to college, moved into the city, he wondered why his hair was turning gray
Dooly wheels keep on turnin’, His family keeps on growin’
Older, older , he’s really getting older
Verse 4
If you come down to the farm now, bet you are gonna find some grandkids there.
Swimmin’ and a laughin’ runnin’ and a ridin’
Pops will be the one with the biggest grin
Mule wheels keep on turnin’, Babies they keep comin’
It’s official, official, he’s over the hill
Over, over, over the hill…

OVER THE HILL????????

Dad turned 50 today! Happy Birthday Dad!
Do you feel any older?

Two Month Check-up

This morning I took Eli to his 2 month check-up. He weighed 12lbs 1oz. I think he weighed 8lbs 8oz at his 1 month. wow... Luke still beat him though. He was 22 1/2 inches long . The doctor said he looked great! He had to put some silver nitrate on his cord, cause there was still cord on there. That should dry it right up!

Eli THEN...Eli NOW

He was probably a week old there.

He is 2 months and 3 days here.

Look at his legs and arms... he's chunking
up!

Happy FIRST Father's Day Matt!

He's looking at the cow picture that aunt
Jennifer painted for him. He smiled at the picture for a good
while!

Ahhhhh... he's a cutie pie! He's just been smiling this week. Don't you love the outfit?
Mackenzie got that for him. I figured with it being Father's Day, that Matt would like the camo, big truck outfit.

Thanks for being such a great dad and husband Matt! We love you!

Steph's shower and Abigail with the puppys

Ok, so you're wondering why there aren't more pictures of Steph's shower...
that's because I didn't take anymore. It's hard to remember to take pictures and
take care of your kid. Sorry Steph!!!

Our Yard...

This is our yard. We decided to landscape it ourselves. We are selling our
house and thought we might need to make it look alittle nicer.
We are still working on it.

Playtime

Here are a few pictures of Eli playing on his Baby
Einstein playmat. He likes it I promise. He doesn't
act like it in the pictures, but he does. :)

Sophie will look like?

Michelle , Wife and Mother Extraordinaire...

Ode to Michelle!

Michelle is the embodiment of a Titus 2 woman!

"...and so train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled, pure, working at home, kind and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled" Titus 2: 4-5

She takes exellent care of her family ! She is constantly thinking of ways to help Jeremy more or be a better mom. She works at home! Abigail is even starting to work at home after watching michelle. She loves jeremy, abigail and luke and builds her life around taking care of them. When i grow up I want to be just like Michelle.

And doesn't that picture reveal the true nature of motherhood? Everything seems fine and you are having fun, but in the distance a problem is lurking.....

Nanny and Poppy's...

Kaleb and Abigail love to water
Nanny's flowers on her deck.

You'll always see a broom near Kaleb.

Like Mother Like Daughter!

You'll never believe what just happened... Abigail came in the kitchen and asked me for a wet wipe so that she could clean the TV. She said that it was "very dirty." I gave her a windex wipe and told her to get busy! I could really get used to this!

I guess I was asking a little too much to have her sweep the floor!

A Couple Days in The Life of Kaleb...

Thursday morning, Kaleb woke up saying " More duck" . In two to three minutes the sum total of all of his stuffed animals was in his bed with him. He squeeled with delight and kept diving under the pile and hiding. It was only the sweet promise of a "manana" that lured him out of this...

Friday, Kaleb spent a significant amount of the day just reading in Sophie's unfinished room. The notecard on the table to the right kept his attention for half an hour

On Saturday morning, we awoke to a suprise at our front door. Tommy and Jennifer brought their new little puppy to play with Kaleb. He loved it!

Kaleb had a good week! Even though i was suprised by the fun things that happened, God was not.

" For I know the plansI have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.. You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you ...." Jeremiah 29:11-13 a

Somewhere in the middle of runny noses and sweet memories, our real goal of parenting ...the salvation of our children takes place... All of it ordained before any of us were born!
"To whom will you compare me, that i should be like him? says the Holy One". Isaiah 44: 25

Only God is GOD and is capable of this! No plan of His can be thwarted, they all come to pass, exactly as he desires... That is fuel for fervent prayers...
