Working Cows...

I called Dad this morning to remind him it was his night for watching Eli and he said that they were working cows (it's where they give them shots and tag them if need be and other things to keep the cows healthy) today if we wanted to come and hang out. I had planned on going to the Zoo this morning, but decided to go and check things out. When we were younger we were the ones helping and not the nice people from UT Vet school. Thank you Vet students! Stephanie, Kaleb, and Sophie came a little later. We had a great time.

Kaleb walking through the pen. He had such a good time. Stephanie said that when she put his boots on today that he said "I'm a cowboy." Too cute! He also kept saying hi to the cows.

Eli's Birthday Party!

On Sunday night we had Eli's birthday party. Everybody was there. Thanks to Jennifer and Jay for driving all the way from Nashville and back. It was some fun times. I uploaded a ton of pictures. I had a hard time picking which ones to put up. Thanks to Sam for taking pictures as well. I've got a lot of pictures he took on here. Also, thanks Pop's for letting us have it at your house.
Sweet face.

He did not like the cake at all. You can tell by the face!

The tractor cake I made.

Heres the other part of Pop's Playground. Abigail, Kaleb, and Clifton swinging and Jennifer pushing Abigail.

Eli did not like the pony. Maybe one day he will. We'll keep trying.

Sophie riding the pony with a spoon in hand. I guess you never know when you need one.

Dad got this jeep last week. Here is Kaleb driving Abigail.

Bye bye!

I could have put up tons more pictures, but I decided to stop there.

Walking and Drinking

Well, Eli is walking. He's walks pretty much everywhere now. He still crawls, but walks just as much if not a little more. It's been so fun watching him walk. He's so cute. He'll lose his balance and stop and then keep going. He also pretty much skipped drinking out of a sippy cup and went straight to a cup with a straw. He's drinks all the time. He's loves water and those Motts for Tots juice drinks. They are mainly water, so you don't have to put water in there. They are great.

We are having his party Sunday night, since we are going to the marriage retreat today. I hate to leave on his birthday, but we are going to the Zoo this morning, so we are going to have a great time! Happy birthday buddy! We love you!

Kaleb's budding career in Science

This is Kaleb's first real science experiment. Clifton is working on a project and he climbed up and joined him. He was very interested and we were VERY PROUD. Check out the outfit, classic science attire.

We attribute this interest to great genetics, the grace of God, and science shows on PBS (Nature and NOVA) We have recently begun to watch Nature on Sunday evenings. He even watched a show on the history of the FLOWER last night. He propped his feet up on the ottoman and snuggled with me and his easter bunny. Our only regret is that these shows often emphasize evolution in the commentary. CH FINNEY said that, "Science is the study of the works of God" We look forward to Kaleb spending his life doing just that!

Sophie is 9 months old!

Sophie is 9 months old, but i will take her for a well-check next month. She weighed 17 pounds and 7 ounces at the doctor the other day. She is currently on an eating and sleeping strike, not doing either! I am afraid she is moving to 1 nap a day! This is tooooo early. She is getting several teeth all at once and she is definitely letting me know. She continues to be wild and loves to stand and will try repeatedly to take a successful step in the middle of the room. She takes one step and then steadies herself, but does not fall anymore. She does this over and over!

She can finally wear her size 3 shoes, so here is a look at our entryway . Look at the tiny little shoes. Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Tommy got them for her, but her feet are so small that she can only just now begin to wear them. Or it might just be that Kaleb's feet were just so big, that she seems to have small feet...

Here is a classic sophie face. Look at all the teeth! I should really count and see how many are in there, but she is quite a biter and i am a little afraid!
While i am typing this, they are giggling at each other. Kaleb has started calling her "my sister" . Clifton asked Kaleb whether he wanted a little brother or a sister ( partly to get a rise out of me!) and he said he wanted another sophie. He really loves her!
