Sickness, Toys, and New Words.

Well, this week has been a little lazy. Eli's been a little sick or maybe it's just his 2 year molars. We don't know. Matt's got a sinus infection and I'm going to the doctor today to see what I have. Also, Eli's started saying 'nana' which is banana. He says cool, moon... and many more. He's been using his sign language a lot more without me asking. He's quick to pick up on things. I showed him milk a couple of times and this morning when I got him out of bed, he did the sign for milk. He gets so excited when he does those things. Probably because I get so excited! He also is a little copy cat. He copies everything! I mean EVERYTHING!
Here he is laying down and eating cheerios.

Yesterday he got a bad diaper rash. I didn't know he did "#2" and he sat in it for about an hour. Needless to say, his little bottom was RED. It really bothered him, so he just laid down. It was so sad :(

This was Eli this morning. I told him that it was nap time and he went to lay down where I was and started reading!

Too cute!

Playing outside and eating a cracker.

Me and Eli. Look at those big eyes. The boy is pretty much all Kirkpatrick.

I just got out some of his toys when we moved to the apartments, cause they are little. So, I decided to get the rest out and Eli was so excited! He stays in there all day! He loves it. I know there must be some other toys in another box, but who knows where they are.

I think he looks like Uncle Michael in this picture.

One of my new favorite pictures. Check out those cheeks!

Helping mommy....

Clifton has been traveling, Sophie has been snotting and Kaleb has entered into a whole new realm of "mischievary" and I have been praying and memorizing scripture about how God is my Help! Today a few things happened that greatly helped me...
  • Kaleb and I were singing songs. I sing the song and then pause for him to fill in the word. We were singing...The lord is close to the -------- and he is supposed to sing, broken hearted... instead he sang sparky party! I nearly wrecked the car.
  • At the mechanics shop there was a man smoking ( getting all he can in before the 1st of Oct) and Kaleb exclaimed loudly " that man's mouth is on fire"....
  • I tucked kaleb in and said the usual " I love you. i am so glad to be your mommy, i can't wait until you wake up in the morning !" He said, " i am so glad you are my mommy!"
All this makes me think of "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 I don't want to just make it through the season with small children but enjoy it and thank God for it! There really is no where else i would like to be.

Here is sophie " helping" me with the laundry. She is starting to cover her mouth when she laughs just like an adult. Super, super cute!

Kaleb "helping" by setting the table. Some days he does better than others. Check out the outfit that he is sporting for dinner! Lately, he has been saying, " This tastes dusty" after he takes a bite...not sure what that is about. ..... Maybe i should try some different recipes :)

Our Little Adventure in the Mountains!

Sunday afternoon Matt, Eli, and I headed to the mountains with Dad. He was clearing some land and ran out of gas, so we decided to get the "mule" or Gator as it is know to most people, that hasn't been ran in a while and follow Pops to the farm. Well, needless to say, it stopped and we couldn't get it running again, so Matt and Dad took turns driving Eli on the 4-wheeler and we walked to the tractor that was out of gas. It was a lot of walking and when we got to the tractor and put the gas in it wouldn't start. This means that we are in the mountains stuck with just a 4-wheeler and 4 people. We walked out . Then we went back up there last night after work to jump the gator off and we burned something there and it wouldn't start. So, we walked out again. This time we drove the truck up there and we walked out again with just the 4-wheeler and on our way out we saw two elk. Very neat! Well, hopefully tonight or sometime soon we can get the gator out and get the tractor started!

Dad and Matt trying to figure things out.

If you look closely you can see Bull Run Steam Plant! It's right in the middle.

Forgot some pictures...

I forgot to post the pictures of MGM. Eli didn't like it as much. He did like to eat the sucker and the HUGE playground. Here is the other post about our vacation

Abigail's First UT Game

Last Saturday night, we took Abigail to her first UT football game ever! Pops, Ashley, Frances, Jeremy, Abigail and I went. It was Frances' first time to a UT game as well so we thought we would show them everything. First we had our own little tailgating party courtesy of Buddy's BBQ. We parked in the Fort area so that we could show them what it was like to walk in with 100,000 other people! After the game we even sat in traffic for almost an hour just to let them have the full experience! We had a great time. Abigail said her favorite part of the game was the wave (which she was afraid of at first...she said "Mommy, what is that coming!") and the fireworks. Towards the end of the game she looked at Pops and said "Please take me home...I'm tired". She stayed awake till 12:30 that night...that is the latest she has ever been awake! We had a great time. Thanks again Pops!

Pops bought Abigail a new cheerleading outfit for the game!

Our very own tailgating party!

Abigail and Nana...check out the M&M's in her teeth!

It was very hot as you can tell by our faces!

View from our seats...now that's a lot of people!

Our Very First Family Vacation

I've been meaning to post about our family vacation. We went down to Orlando for a couple of days. We had a great time! Eli did so good. We went to all four parks in 2 days, so he was a trooper. We went to a park in the morning and then we came home and took a nap and then went back to another park at night. He also did great on the way there and back.
