Sophie's 2nd Birthday

Sophie turned 2 on July 5th and had a "pink and purple" party. To get her excited for her birthday, i asked her what she wanted. She replied, ( after much thought- she gets that from clifton) Cake." Then, she added, " big cake....big pink cake....Big pink and purple cake"... Mom made her a beautiful pink and purple cake and she loved it. She snatched the top part off and then tried to take more. She even tried to blow out the candles.
Sophie is very fun these days. She is quirky ( like clifton) She put on all her birthday presents as she received them. She loves all things girly. ( not like clifton)
Here she is in action. She has 2 purses, a backpack and she is riding her scooter. Kaleb got her a princess crown. It came complete with earrings, really tasteless necklace and a bracelet. He wants her to wear it all the time and when she does, he says " now you are a princess or you are beautiful" Very sweet.
Here we are on her birthday. Look how happy sophie is. Kaleb was also very happy it was her birthday. I tried to explain to him that the 4th of July was our nation's birthday , but he just kept telling me " no, it is sophie's birthday". Michelle said that in his class at church, he also kept saying, " it is my baby sister's birthday" He loves her.
We started the day with chocolate chip pancakes ( bc sophie loves to eat- also like clifton) We ended the day with clifton reading them their bedtime story in her new princess tent. The greatest part of her princess tent is that i can actually put it together.

So grateful to God for sophie! Cannot believe that she is two. I have to admit that i cried when I put her to bed that night :)

Helping Mommy with beans!

Eli didn't want to go to sleep at his normal time, so he helped me break some beans. He was pretty good at it and he loved to help me. He's such a big helper!

The porch is almost done!

We still need to put the decking on and do something with poles and put our new front door on.

Late Night in the Garden...

We went out in the garden tonight and we found a lot of veggies that needed to be picked. Eli is such a big help. He always says... "Help Mommy, Help Daddy, Help Pops." He really likes to pick green peppers that are way too small. Anyways, sorry for the garden posts, but that is all we do and we do the house as well, but I don't have many new pictures. Enjoy.

Cucumbers!

This is our second time picking cucumbers and making pickles. Tonight Jennifer and I will be making dill pickles. Ashley, Dad, and I made bread and butter pickles. We made 24 pints and 5 quarts. It was my first time making pickles. I loved it and can't wait to do more! Beans are almost ready, so we will be canning beans here within the next week! Fun times here on the farm :)

Tanner

This is Tommy and Jennifer's dog. They have been on vacation for like 2 1/2 weeks and Tanner has been staying at Dad's house.
