Dad's "Surprise" Birthday Party
The "tech" team. We put together a slide show for Dad.The Sluss Family Singers wrote a song for Dad. Here is the song...
ENJOY!
Happy 50th Birthday Song
Verse 1
Born way back in ’56, started working for his dad every night and day
And he never missed one minute of livin’, worryin’ ‘ bout the way things might have been
Big wheels keep on turnin’, Birthdays started comin’
Older, Older, he started gettin’ older.
Verse 2
Worked a lot or days in Detroit, started a few fights around 8 mile
Detroit ain’t got no good side of the city, so he hitched a ride on back down south
4 wheels keep on turnin’, Every day he kept on learnin’,
Rollin’, Rollin’, Rollin’ on life’s highway
Verse 3
Worked a lot of horses at Pine knob, There was Howie barrs and Jett’s pay day
Kids went off to college, moved into the city, he wondered why his hair was turning gray
Dooly wheels keep on turnin’, His family keeps on growin’
Older, older , he’s really getting older
Verse 4
If you come down to the farm now, bet you are gonna find some grandkids there.
Swimmin’ and a laughin’ runnin’ and a ridin’
Pops will be the one with the biggest grin
Mule wheels keep on turnin’, Babies they keep comin’
It’s official, official, he’s over the hill
Over, over, over the hill…

Happy FIRST Father's Day Matt!
Ahhhhh... he's a cutie pie! He's just been smiling this week. Don't you love the outfit?
Mackenzie got that for him. I figured with it being Father's Day, that Matt would like the camo, big truck outfit.
Thanks for being such a great dad and husband Matt! We love you!

Michelle , Wife and Mother Extraordinaire...
Ode to Michelle!
Michelle is the embodiment of a Titus 2 woman!
"...and so train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled, pure, working at home, kind and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled" Titus 2: 4-5
She takes exellent care of her family ! She is constantly thinking of ways to help Jeremy more or be a better mom. She works at home! Abigail is even starting to work at home after watching michelle. She loves jeremy, abigail and luke and builds her life around taking care of them. When i grow up I want to be just like Michelle.
And doesn't that picture reveal the true nature of motherhood? Everything seems fine and you are having fun, but in the distance a problem is lurking.....

A Couple Days in The Life of Kaleb...
Friday, Kaleb spent a significant amount of the day just reading in Sophie's unfinished room. The notecard on the table to the right kept his attention for half an hour
On Saturday morning, we awoke to a suprise at our front door. Tommy and Jennifer brought their new little puppy to play with Kaleb. He loved it!
Kaleb had a good week! Even though i was suprised by the fun things that happened, God was not.
" For I know the plansI have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.. You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you ...." Jeremiah 29:11-13 a
Somewhere in the middle of runny noses and sweet memories, our real goal of parenting ...the salvation of our children takes place... All of it ordained before any of us were born!
"To whom will you compare me, that i should be like him? says the Holy One". Isaiah 44: 25
Only God is GOD and is capable of this! No plan of His can be thwarted, they all come to pass, exactly as he desires... That is fuel for fervent prayers...
